Intro to Algebra

Rising Grades 7 to 9

Prepare for middle school or high school Algebra I.

This course is for students who want a head start on high school-level Algebra 1 skills or a comprehensive review of what they learned in Algebra 1 last year. A mix of guided practice, independent practice, and enrichment activities helps students strengthen their understanding of core topics and approach new material with confidence.

Students work through a sequence of topics that matches the HS Algebra 1 curriculum used in local schools, including equations, functions, graphing, inequalities, and linear relationships. They complete practice sets, explore real-world examples, and learn strategies that help them stay organized and accurate on more challenging problems. Instructors provide daily, individualized coaching to each student, as well as written feedback on quizzes at the end of each unit of study. The class workbooks are developed in-house by Fairfax Collegiate’s team of experienced and professional educators.

At the end of the course, students take home their workbook filled with notes, completed exercises, and quiz results. They leave prepared to meet the demands of their upcoming school year Algebra 1 class with confidence and success.
