Gateway to Algebra

Rising Grades 5 to 6

Get on the seventh-grade Algebra I track.

This course prepares ambitious students to obtain a Pass Advanced score on the Math 7 SOL and qualify to take Algebra 1 as 7th graders in Fairfax County Public Schools. Lessons, guided practice, and targeted review help students deepen their understanding of essential concepts while building the confidence needed to approach more challenging problems.

Students work through all five categories of the Math 7 SOL: Number and Number Sense, Computation and Estimation, Measurement and Geometry, Probability and Statistics, and Patterns, Functions, and Algebra. They complete practice sets, analyze common problem types, and learn strategies that strengthen accuracy, organization, and effective test-taking.

By the end of the course, students have a solid foundation in the major topics, experience with sample questions and full-length practice tests, and practical tools they can use on test day. They leave feeling prepared and motivated for SOL success.
