Where do you attend school, and what what are you studying?
I graduated from Emory University in 2024 with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in History. I recently completed my first year of law school and am a J.D. candidate, Class of 2028.
Originally on the pre-medicine track, I completed all prerequisite science courses, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and various upper-level biology courses. As a History major, I developed strong analytical, writing, and research skills through numerous upper-level seminars and independent research projects.
I also served as a peer tutor throughout high school and college in STEM and humanities subjects.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?
I have extensive peer tutoring experience in both high school and college. I tutored students in high school mathematics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP English Literature & Language, AP U.S. History, and AP U.S. Government & Politics.
In college, I continued tutoring in general biology, general chemistry, English writing/composition, and upper-level history courses. These experiences helped me develop the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to students of varying skill levels.
What subjects have you taught with Fairfax Collegiate in the past?
I first worked with Fairfax Collegiate in the summer of 2022 as an Instructor. I returned in summer 2023 as an Instructor and advanced to Lead Instructor in 2024.
Over those three summers, I taught SAT Prep (including the new Digital format), PSAT/NMSQT Prep, TJHSST Admissions Prep, Precalculus, middle school mathematics, middle school and elementary debate, Model United Nations, Mock Trial, and elementary chemistry.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?
This summer I am teaching Complete SAT preparatory courses, including a dedicated class focusing on the exam’s most challenging problems.
I have a strong quantitative background, having taken AP Calculus AB and BC in high school, followed by Calculus II and Multivariable Calculus in college. For verbal and writing preparation, I completed AP English Literature and AP English Language, as well as numerous upper-level literature, writing, and history courses during my undergraduate studies.
I scored well above 1500 on the SAT (including a perfect 800 on the Math section) and have significant teaching experience with the material. I previously taught both PSAT/NMSQT and SAT courses at Fairfax Collegiate during prior summers and am familiarized with the new Digital SAT format.
