Students prepare for the reading and writing sections of the SAT.
Topics include:
The enrollment limit is 12 students.
Students take two full-length practice exams outside of class to become familiar with the test format and types of questions, and as a way to measure their growth over the progress of the class. In-class time is used for shorter practice sets, learning test-taking and time management strategies, and reviewing content. Instructors write evaluations with remarks summarizing the student's successes and challenges.
Families will need to order a copy of the course textbook from Amazon (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1457312190) or any other retailer of their choice. This is the latest edition, directly from the company that produces the SAT.
Please note: this course follows the same curriculum as the SAT Verbal Prep course that was available in the Fairfax Collegiate Summer Program.
