Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Shana graduated from West Springfield High School before moving to Flagstaff, AZ to get her B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Northern Arizona University. Upon graduating she traveled extensively teaching English as a foreign language and immediately fell in love with the art of teaching. After 6 years living, teaching and experiencing the cultures in China, Israel, Peru and Panama she returned to NOVA to get her M.A. in Education from George Mason University.

In the classroom, Shana has taught grades K-4, special education, as well as adult business; and has a passion for teaching her students how to apply their new skills in the real world. She is currently teaching kindergarten and heading her school's green program. There, the students have designed and built an impressive school wide garden, where the students learn to not only to care for their own garden but the whole ecosystem to which it belongs.

Shana is looking forward to meeting and serving the students, families and teachers at the Dulles location this summer.
