Benjamin Kagan
Originally from the NYC area, Benjamin received his B.S. in biology
from the State University of New York at Binghamton. After moving to
the DC area in 1997, he pursued and received his Ph.D. from
Georgetown University in pharmacology in 2002. Between 2002 and 2009
Benjamin worked as a scientist at the National Institutes of Health
and Georgetown University conducting research on cell biology and
breast cancer. In the spring of 2010, Benjamin received a M.Ed. from
Marymount University in secondary education, with an endorsement in
biology, after successfully finishing a student teaching assignment
at W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax County. Starting this fall,
he will be teaching academic and honors biology at the brand new
Tuscarora High School in Leesburg, Virginia. This is Benjamin's
first year at Fairfax Collegiate, and he is looking forward to
working with the instructors and students as the Reston Location
Director.
