Fairfax Collegiate Summer 2012

Edward Caughlan

Edward Caughlan

Edward Caughlan is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he tutored a migrant child, helped teach disabled skiers, and taught weekly Sunday school classes as he figured out that teaching would be his profession. He has taught second grade for the past four years at Saint Timothy School in Chantilly.

He spent five summers working for his local Boy Scout council's summer camp programs, teaching such skills as knot tying, marksmanship, and emergency preparedness. Edward has also assisted with with a literacy program while volunteering in the Dominican Republic. Edward's interest in robotics was initially sparked when, at the age of eight, he assembled a dinosaur robot from the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
