Students write scripts for short video films and may submit their scripts for production by video filmmaking classes.
Activities include learning key screenwriting concepts, reading and discussing existing scripts, analyzing film scenes from a writer’s perspective, and writing and revising drafts of students’ scripts.
Students read scripts aloud to hear their work and visualize final production. Teachers provide detailed suggestions for improvement of story, structure, plot, characters, dialogue, and mechanics.
