Student create compelling graphics using digital cameras and open source software.
Students learn principles of photographic composition and lighting, and use tripods, pre-focusing techniques, and exposure controls to capture sophisticated images.
Students use Paint.NET and the GIMP to apply transformations to images including resizings, crops, exposure adjustments, maskings, blurs, and vignettes.
Students also draw vector images using InkScape and graphics tablets.
