Acting and Video Production 7-9
Students act in and produce short films.
There are two groups: the acting company and the production team. Students choose their group.
The acting company participates in an intensive, hands-on acting workshop. Exercises focus on character work, scene study, and expressing the intention of the script.
Next acting students rehearse scenes and act in one or more short films.
The production team begins with exercises that introduce script analysis, storyboarding, shot listing, location scouting, camera operation, lighting, and sound techniques.
Next the production team shoots one or more short digital video films.
On the final day, the class will screen “rushes” (unedited footage) and discuss their editing potential.
